The Brenta Naviglio flows into the Venetian lagoon, famous all over the world for Venice, but also for the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Few people know that the Riviera del Brenta, in addition to the noble villas, offers nature lovers unique itineraries along the banks of the river, bike tours in discovery of the most hidden corners or in the splendid setting of the southern lagoon, that possesses characteristics and features that are practically inaccessible and almost unknown nowadays. Discover one of the rarest, most delicate ecosystems, populated by a great many birds and unusual flora, an example of nature adapting to live amid the silt and brackish waters of the swampy lagoon shoreline. The tide goes in and out, covering and baring the little strips of land, whose particular vegetation changes color with the season, changing the entire aspect of the surrounding lagoon. It is a world where time seems to have stopped, where the deep silence is broken only by the cries of seagulls, where we can see the lagoon as it was centuries ago. With the fishing nets stretch to dry on the shoals, the fish traps floating near the surface, the fishing boats starkly outlined in the bright sunlight. There are a number of different bicycle tours that visit the villas and mansions along the Riviera del Brenta. Probably one of the most popular is the one that leaves from Strà and reaches the lagoon using the "low" road (with less traffic than SR 11) along the river. This itinerary visits lesser known but no less important villas like Villa Fattoretto Badoer, Villa Bon Tessier, Villa Tito etc. With the bicycle, tourists can also reach the islands of Lido di Venezia or Pellestrina on the ferryboats that leave regularly from Trochetto-Venice. Bikes can be rented directly in the area even for several days. |

Full day itinerary through the marshes and shoals, the beaches and harbors of the lagoon. It is possible to admire the splendid, unusual hunting lodge of Valle Zappa and the ancient tower of the Padovana at the Figheri marsh, the ruins of the lodges of the Prime Poste and Millecampi built on two little islands barely emerging from the water. On the Lake of Settemorti is the characteristic island of Pellestrina. The tour stops to visit a typical marsh lodge or a characteristic palafitte and at Pellestrina to visit the island. A guide on the boat illustrates the peculiarities of the lagoon and fishing marshes, and entertains the guests with stories and ancient hunting and fishing legends. |

Half-day itinerary that winds along the main fishing marshes. The boat navigates the Cornio canal that skirts the Cornio and Averto marshes where it is possible to observe numerous species of birds that nest and feed on the banks and in the calm waters; the tour passes by the splendid, unusual hunting lodge of the Zappa marsh and, farther on, the ancient tower of the Padovana on the Figheri marsh. From here it proceeds to the ruins of the lodges of Prime Poste and Millecampi, built on two little islands that barely emerge from the water. The tour will stop in one of the lodges on the marsh or characteristic pile houses. A guide on board illustrates the naturalistic peculiarities of the lagoon and fishing marshes and will entertain the guests with stories and ancient hunting and fishing legends. |
