CANTINE RIVIERA DEL BRENTA – Wine tasting of DOC products and foods YEARS OF HARD WORK LED IN 1947 TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE “DOLO MUNICIPAL WINE CELLARS” WHERE GRAPES COULD BE PROCESSED AND WINE MARKETED BY THE FARMERS WHO WERE ITS MEMBERS. NOW, WITH A NEW NAME BUT THE SAME WORK ETHIC AND ENTHUSIASM THAT CHARACTERIZE THE AREA AND THE PEOPLE ACTIVE IN THE GREAT UNIVERSE OF FINE WINES, THE “CANTINE RIVIERA DEL BRENTA” IS THE HEART OF THE NEW DOC AREA. VISITING THE CELLARS, GUESTS CAN SAMPLE A GUIDED TASTING OF BULK AND BOTTLED WINES PRODUCED LOCALLY, WHILE A WELL-STOCKED WINEBAR – WITH A RICH SELECTION OF WINES FROM ALL OVER – IS AT THE DISPOSAL OF THE MORE CURIOUS WINE ENTHUSIASTS. A LARGE ROOM AND SUMMER GARDEN ARE AVAILABLE FOR MEETINGS AND EVENINGS DEVOTED TO WINE TASTING, ACCOMPANIED BY THE DISHES OF VENETIAN TRADITION. THE CELLARS HABITUALLY PROVIDE A FRIENDLY WELCOME TO ORGANIZED GROUPS THAT WISH TO ENHANCE THEIR VISIT TO THE RIVIERA WITH A CULTURAL PAUSE FOR FINE WINE AND CUISINE. WITH ADVANCE BOOKING THE CELLARS CAN ALSO OFFER GUIDED TOURS, BUFFETS OF SAMPLINGS OR TYPICAL CUISINE COMBINED WITH TASTINGS OF ITS WINES THAT THE TOURIST CAN THEN FIND ON SALE IN THE ANNEXED SHOP. PRODUCTION OF WINES: The widespread production of small private farms, almost identical to the ancient structure of the Roman centuriation, has made the Cantine della Riviera del Brenta a reference for its approximately 400 member-producers who use its technical equipment for the management of the vineyards and then provide about 3500 tons of grapes a year to offer a range of bulk and bottled wines, I.G.T., D.O.C. and also organic products. Since 2004, the family of quality wines in the Veneto region has acquired the Controlled Origin Name “Riviera del Brenta” that is the heritage of the ancient wine culture of these lands. The DOC label valorizes wines obtained with grapes, from musts of the following varieties: Tocay Friulano, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Raboso Piave, Raboso Veronese. LA BISACCIA WINE SHOP: Cantine della Riviera del Brenta has its own annexed shop, La Bisaccia, where visitors can purchase the salami and cheese typical of the Veneto region, as well as the many wines produced locally. Visitors will find the prices competitive on the entire range of products, including organically grown products, from the historic Cooperativa Lattebusche of Belluno: milk, fresh cheese, semi-aged and aged cheese, ice cream. As regards salami and other deli meats, these are produced by a farm called “La Margherita” in Trebaseleghe (PD), that has combined refined research and modern technology to the selection of high quality pork, applying this experience directly to the consumer product.
